Like most of us, athletes tend to overextend themselves during breaks. That's why there needs to be more micro-breaks within a race season.
During transition season athletes should focus on staying grounded and getting back to the basics. Less travels/events, more time at home.
This is something athletes, coaches, directors, and teams need to take into consideration with training and camps. Race seasons are LONG.
